Holland Tract Levee Rehabilitation

The primary goal of this project was to rehabilitate a portion of the existing perimeter levee system on Holland Tract, located east of Oakley in Contra Costa County. The project consisted of excavating 144,521 cubic yards of material from on-island borrow locations, transporting the material to the designated locations as shown on the project plans, and placing the material in an effort to raise and widen the levee embankment to achieve additional flood protection for the island. The total length of the project was 18,000 lineal feet.

The secondary goal of this project was to replace and raise existing siphon pipes above the floodplain at eight locations along the project area as well as remove a two-story structure located on the landside slope.
