Gomathishankar “Shankar” Parvathinathan is a Registered Civil Engineer in California and a Senior Engineer at MBK. Since joining MBK, Dr. Parvathinathan’s career has been focused on the development and application of CalSim II. Dr. Parvathinathan routinely assists with the evaluation and creation of models, and other predictive indicators of water planning, which includes the calculations of agricultural and urban demands, reservoir operations, and conjunctive management of surface and groundwater systems. Dr. Parvathinathan has extensive experience in development and application of a wide array of models to water resources planning including CalSim II, CalLite, WEAP, DSM2, and many others. Dr. Parvathinathan has delivered expert witness testimony on behalf of clients on issues concerning water quality impacts in the Delta from proposed water resources planning projects.
