Gomathishankar “Shankar” Parvathinathan is a Supervising Engineer in the System Operations group at MBK Engineers. Since joining MBK, Shankar’s career has been focused on the development and application of CalSim II. He routinely assists with the evaluation and creation of models, as well as other predictive indicators of water planning, which includes the calculations of agricultural and urban demands, reservoir operations, and conjunctive management of surface and groundwater systems. Shankar has extensive experience in development and application of a wide array of models to water resources planning, including CalSim II, CalLite, WEAP, DSM2, and many others.
In addition to his other duties, Shankar has delivered expert witness testimony on behalf of clients regarding issues concerning water quality impacts in the Delta from proposed water resources planning projects.
