10 Questions with Leslie Jenson
How did you get into engineering?
I attended American River College’s Accounting Course. Coincidently, my first job was working for the same company that our newest Finance team member (Andrew Petrenko) just came from.
Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
The Flintstone's Village in South Dakota. I know I’ve been to more interesting places, but this was the first one that popped in my head. It was one of my favorites places I visited as a kid.
What do you do for your job?
Bookkeeper at the best company in Sacramento!
What is the best part of your job?
I love working with all the amazing people at MBK and It’s rewarding to be of support to every department. I also enjoy MBK’s work environment. We have so many fun activities to participate in. I enjoy Exercise for a Cause, Birthday Club, and this year’s Harvest Dinner was super fun!
What hobby would you get into if time and money were not an issue?
Playing Guitar & Hiking. I love being in the woods, but not camping. I want a hot shower and a comfy bed at the end of the day.
What fictional place would you most like to visit?
Pandora from the Avatar movie. I would love to ride a dragon!
What’s the best way to start the day?
Taking a walk and watching the sunrise.
Would you rather go hang gliding or whitewater rafting?
I would love to go hang gliding although I’m sure I would be screaming for the first 30 seconds.
What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you?
When I was a young mother and money was tight, I needed to buy new shoes for work. While browsing, I saw a pair of beautiful silver and gold sparkling heels that I just had to try on. I put them back since they were too expensive, but a woman saw me and insisted on buying them for me. I still have those lovely shoes, and I will never forget her.
Where would you rather be from?
From a disgustingly wealthy family. Hahaha!
