10 Questions with Dustin Bohn

What do you do for your job?
While working with the MBK Water Rights Group, I’ve had the opportunity to assist and learn from the Water Rights team when navigating California water law. This includes helping water users properly report usage and maintaining compliance. I also assist by conducting field visits across the northern valley to monitor groundwater aquifer levels.

How did you get into engineering?
I cannot remember a time where I didn’t want to be an engineer, but I ultimately decided to be a civil engineer because I enjoyed the idea of being able to problem solve real world infrastructure issues. The longevity of the solutions civil engineers come up with has always fascinated me.

Having the chance to get out of the office and work in the outdoors from time to time.

What’s the best single day on the calendar?

What hobby would you get into if time and money were not an issue?
I would get my pilot’s license and fly my own private jet. But I can live with a single prop Cessna too.

Where is the most relaxing place you’ve ever been?
Fort Bragg, CA. A weekend in the Beachcomber Hotel staring out at the coast and eating delicious sea food always does the trick.

Travel to another country for at least a month. You never know who you might meet or what you might learn!

Where would you spend all your time if you could?
Any body of water. Anything from the ocean/beaches to lakes and rivers. I love being in and around water.
