The California Department of Water Resources retained the services of several contractors for floodplain delineation and flood management activities within the Lower and Upper Sacramento River Basin and Lower San Joaquin River Basin as part of the Central Valley Floodplain Evaluation and Delineation Program (CVFED). The CVFED Program is one of several programs within DWR’s FloodSAFE California initiative to improve integrated flood management throughout California, with particular emphasis on issues pertaining to the facilities of the State Plan of Flood Control (SPFC). MBK Engineers was an integral team member to help deliver task orders consisting of land surveys, bathymetric surveys, one- and two-dimensional HEC-RAS and FLO-2D models of rivers and floodplains, and floodplain mapping.
