Marine Biology.
What’s something you’ve been meaning to try, but just haven’t gotten around to yet?
A hot air balloon ride.
What’s the best single day on the calendar?
My birthday - because it is the one day a year that is all about me :-)
What’s the best way to start the day?
Not having to rush off somewhere.
What takes up too much of your time?
Morning and evening commute.
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
Gardening!
What is the best part of your job?
That after 12 years, I still enjoy performing my daily tasks, my co-workers, and the client relationships that I have developed.
How did you get into engineering?
I got into accounting because I liked the challenge of numbers, although I did not always like math. I have over 25 years of experience in a wide variety of accounting duties. I started right out of high school when I interviewed for a front office position at Brinks Home Security and after 1 month was promoted to the Office Coordinator position.
What do you do for your job?
I am the Staff Accountant at MBK, and I wear quite a few hats in the Accounting Department. I process the monthly billing and bi-monthly prevailing wages, along with the online filings. In addition, I process the on-boarding of new hires and manage the contracts, subcontractor agreements, and any task updates or budget amendments.
