SGMA

The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) was signed into legislation by Governor Brown on September 16, 2014. SGMA is intended to give local agencies the authorities to manage groundwater in a sustainable manner by establishing a framework to develop plans and implement strategies to sustainably manage groundwater resources. The water rights team has been following the development of SGMA regulations for items such as Basin Boundary Modifications and Groundwater Sustainability Plans. In addition, our team has been assisting clients with the formation of Groundwater Sustainability Agencies.
